Terms of Service
Last updated: July 10, 2026
1. The Short Version
Quotes and estimates are free. Before any service begins, the proposed scope and price will be explained to you. No paid service will begin until you approve it, and no additional paid work will be performed without your authorization. You may cancel or reschedule a standard appointment without charge. We stand behind the workmanship included in the service you approved.
2. About HomeVent Pros
HomeVent Pros provides on-site residential services at customer locations throughout Connecticut.
Services are provided by appointment and are subject to customer location, availability, accessibility, weather, safety conditions, and the requested scope of service.
HomeVent Pros does not currently operate a walk-in retail location or customer-facing storefront.
3. Our Services
HomeVent Pros provides services including:
- Chimney sweeping and cleaning
- Comprehensive visual chimney inspections
- Fireplace and pellet stove cleaning
- Dryer vent cleaning
- Air duct cleaning
- Related cleaning and maintenance services specifically approved by the customer
The exact scope of each appointment is limited to the service described and approved before work begins.
A website description, advertisement, telephone conversation, message, or appointment confirmation does not automatically include every possible service associated with a chimney, fireplace, pellet stove, dryer vent, or air-duct system.
4. Comprehensive Visual Chimney Inspection
When a chimney inspection is included in the approved service, HomeVent Pros will perform a comprehensive visual inspection of the chimney and fireplace components that can be safely and reasonably accessed or observed at the time of the appointment.
Depending on the system, accessibility, property conditions, and approved scope, the inspection may include observation of:
- The firebox
- The damper
- The smoke chamber
- Accessible flue or chimney-liner surfaces
- Visible bricks and mortar
- Accessible interior chimney areas
- Accessible exterior chimney areas
- Visible airflow obstructions
- Visible soot or creosote buildup
- Other reasonably accessible components associated with the chimney or fireplace system
Where specifically included in the approved service, a video camera, lighting equipment, or photographic documentation may be used to observe and record visible interior conditions.
The customer may receive a written or digital report containing observations, photographs, and recommendations.
The inspection describes conditions that were visible and reasonably detectable at the time of the service. It does not guarantee that every concealed, internal, blocked, underground, covered, or otherwise inaccessible condition will be identified.
Unless expressly stated in a separate written agreement, the inspection is not:
- A structural or engineering inspection
- A code-compliance certification
- A governmental inspection
- A real-estate inspection
- An environmental inspection
- Mold or asbestos testing
- A gas-system inspection
- A guarantee that the chimney or fireplace is safe for continued use
- A certification by CSIA, NFPA, or another professional organization
Recommendations made following an inspection are based on conditions reasonably observed at the time of service.
5. Quotes and Estimates
Quotes and estimates are free and carry no obligation unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.
Before service begins, we will explain the proposed scope and price. No paid service will begin until you approve it.
A quote or estimate may be based on the information, photographs, or description provided before the appointment. The proposed price may change if the actual system, access, condition, size, or required work is materially different from the information originally provided.
If that occurs, the updated scope and price will be explained before work continues.
6. Pricing
Prices described as "starting at" apply only to qualifying basic and reasonably accessible systems.
Final pricing may depend on factors including:
- System size, length, and configuration
- Accessibility
- System condition
- Level of soot, lint, dust, debris, buildup, or obstruction
- Number of vents, ducts, fireplaces, flues, or components
- Roof, attic, crawlspace, exterior, or restricted access
- Equipment and labor required
- Property conditions
- The approved scope of service
If additional conditions are discovered during the appointment, we will explain the issue and any proposed additional price before proceeding. You may approve or decline the proposed additional service.
No additional charge will be added for work you did not authorize.
7. Advertised Starting Prices
Where dryer vent cleaning or another service is advertised at a starting price, the starting price applies only to qualifying basic and accessible systems. A starting price is not a guaranteed final price for every property or system.
Advertised starting prices apply to qualifying basic and accessible systems. Final pricing may vary based on system length, configuration, condition, accessibility, buildup, required equipment, and the approved scope of service. Pricing is provided for customer approval before service begins.
8. Scheduling and Arrival Windows
Appointments are scheduled within an estimated arrival window. Arrival times may be affected by traffic, weather, earlier appointments, technician availability, safety conditions, property access, equipment availability, unexpected service conditions, and travel requirements.
We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of a significant delay.
Scheduling an appointment does not guarantee that every requested service can be completed. A service may be modified, postponed, or declined if the system or property is unsafe, inaccessible, materially different from the information provided, or outside the approved scope.
9. Cancellations and Rescheduling
You may cancel or reschedule a standard appointment without charge. We appreciate as much advance notice as reasonably possible.
If HomeVent Pros needs to reschedule because of weather, safety, an emergency, availability, or another operating condition, we will notify you as soon as reasonably possible and offer another available appointment.
This cancellation policy does not limit any cancellation rights available under applicable law.
10. Customer Authorization
An adult authorized to approve the service and price must be present or reasonably available during the appointment.
Approval may be documented through a written or electronic signature, a text message, an email, electronic acceptance, or another reliable written record.
The customer is responsible for reviewing the proposed service and price before approving the work.
11. Customer Responsibilities
The customer must provide safe and reasonable access to the service area. Before the appointment, please:
- Secure pets
- Disclose known hazards
- Provide necessary gate or access codes
- Provide accurate parking and entry instructions
- Remove fragile or valuable items from the immediate work area
- Inform us about known damage or unusual property conditions
- Ensure that an authorized adult is present or reasonably available
The customer confirms that they own the property or are authorized to approve the requested service at the property.
HomeVent Pros may refuse, postpone, or stop a service if conditions appear unsafe, inaccessible, unsanitary, materially different from those described, or likely to cause damage.
12. Payment
Payment is due upon completion of the approved service unless another payment arrangement was agreed to in writing. The customer will receive a receipt or other payment record.
Where available, service documentation may also include service notes, inspection observations, before-and-after photographs, areas that could not be accessed or serviced, and recommendations for future maintenance or evaluation.
If you believe the approved service was not performed as agreed, contact us promptly so we can review the concern. A concern or complaint does not automatically eliminate the obligation to pay for approved services that were properly performed.
13. Our Workmanship Commitment
If a service was not completed according to the approved scope, please notify us within a reasonable time. We will review the concern and, where appropriate, return to address workmanship included in the original approved service without an additional service charge.
This commitment does not cover:
- Pre-existing damage
- Concealed or inaccessible conditions
- Defective or deteriorated equipment
- Improper installation
- Normal wear or deterioration
- Structural problems
- Moisture or water intrusion
- Pest or animal activity
- Customer or third-party alterations
- Conditions outside the approved scope
- New problems arising after the service
Any manufacturer warranty applicable to a product or component is governed by the manufacturer's own terms.
14. Care of Your Home
We take reasonable steps to protect the accessible work area and clean up materials directly resulting from the approved service.
Depending on the service and property, protective measures may include drop cloths, shoe coverings, equipment protection, and basic cleanup of the immediate work area. The appropriate protection method may vary according to the service, access, and property conditions.
15. Cleaning Limitations
Cleaning is limited to areas and components included in the approved scope that can be safely and reasonably accessed.
Cleaning does not guarantee that a system is:
- Completely free from soot, lint, dust, or debris
- Free from every obstruction
- Free from defects
- Properly designed or installed
- Code compliant
- Structurally sound
- Safe for continued operation
- Free from contamination, pests, moisture, or concealed damage
Certain components may not be accessible without dismantling, construction work, specialized equipment, or alterations that are not included in a standard cleaning service.
16. Recommendations
During a cleaning or inspection, we may identify visible conditions and recommend additional cleaning, routine maintenance, further inspection, repair, replacement, or evaluation by an appropriately qualified professional.
Recommendations are provided for your consideration. You may accept or decline a recommendation, request additional information, or obtain another opinion. A recommendation does not obligate you to purchase additional services from HomeVent Pros.
References to generally recognized industry guidance do not imply certification, endorsement, membership, or affiliation with any particular organization.
17. Existing Conditions
Systems and components may already be damaged, weakened, deteriorated, obstructed, improperly installed, or near the end of their useful life before the service begins.
Cleaning may expose existing damage that was previously covered by soot, lint, dust, debris, corrosion, creosote, or other buildup or residue.
HomeVent Pros is not responsible for pre-existing conditions that were not caused by the approved service.
If continuing a service appears likely to cause damage or create an unsafe condition, we may stop the work and explain the concern to the customer.
18. No Guaranteed Results
Results vary according to system design, system age, installation, accessibility, condition, level of buildup, previous maintenance, existing damage, and environmental factors.
Unless expressly stated in writing, HomeVent Pros does not guarantee that a cleaning or inspection will:
- Eliminate every odor
- Remove every contaminant
- Correct equipment failure
- Improve energy efficiency
- Prevent a future fire
- Prevent carbon monoxide exposure
- Correct improper design or installation
- Correct structural damage
- Remove mold or asbestos
- Eliminate pests, moisture, or leaks
- Identify every concealed defect
- Resolve conditions outside the approved scope
19. Photographs and Service Records
HomeVent Pros may photograph or record service areas for preparing estimates, documenting existing conditions, inspection reports, before-and-after records, customer reports, quality control, internal service records, and claims or dispute resolution.
Service photographs may be stored with the customer's service records.
We will not intentionally publish customer-identifying photographs for advertising without separate permission. Customer-identifying information may include names, faces, addresses, house numbers, license plates, personal documents, and other clearly identifying details.
Authorization to perform a service does not automatically authorize public use of photographs for marketing.
20. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, HomeVent Pros is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses resulting from:
- Pre-existing conditions
- Concealed or inaccessible conditions
- Defective or deteriorated components
- Improper installation
- Conditions outside the approved scope
- Customer or third-party actions
- Failure to obtain a recommended specialist evaluation
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability, statutory rights, or consumer protections that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
21. Website Content
Website content is provided for general information, advertising, communication, and appointment-request purposes.
Website information does not constitute engineering advice, legal advice, environmental advice, code-compliance advice, a governmental inspection, a safety certification, or a final professional diagnosis.
Submitting a form, sending a message, or requesting an appointment does not by itself:
- Create a binding service contract
- Guarantee availability
- Confirm a final price
- Guarantee that a requested service can be completed
- Obligate HomeVent Pros to accept the requested work
Website photographs may show actual or representative service conditions. Results vary according to each property and system.
22. Privacy and Communications
Information submitted through our website, advertisements, forms, messages, or communications is handled according to our Privacy Policy.
By providing your contact information in connection with an inquiry or appointment, you authorize HomeVent Pros to contact you regarding your inquiry, an estimate, an appointment, scheduling changes, technician arrival, reports, invoices, receipts, and service-related follow-up.
You may reply STOP to opt out of promotional text messages. Service-related communications may still be sent where reasonably necessary to manage an active inquiry, appointment, transaction, or service concern.
23. Third-Party Services
HomeVent Pros may use third-party providers for website hosting, contact forms, email and text communications, scheduling, payment processing, advertising, analytics, customer management, cloud storage, and mapping.
Third-party services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
24. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without limiting any mandatory consumer rights or legal protections.
25. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms when our services, website, or business practices change. The current version will be posted with an updated "Last Updated" date.
Changes apply prospectively and do not modify a previously approved service unless agreed to by the customer.
